Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are the largest of the toy breeds. They are a joy for everyone in a family. Their size, between 12 to 18 pounds ideally, makes them not too small for adults and not too large for children and older people. Their temperament is ideal for a family. If you want a nice family dog there is not a better breed. If you are single the Cavalier is an excellent companion.
Cavaliers are happy and gay dogs. They are loving , affectionate, and carefree dogs. They are very tolerant to both children and other dogs. To add to this they are an impressive dog to look at.
Cavaliers come in four colours: Blenhiem, Tricolour, Black and Tan, and Ruby. Their general appearance is: "active, graceful and well balanced, with a gentle expression." Their characteristics are: "sporting, affectionate, and absolutely fearless." Their temperament is "gay, friendly, non-agressive; no tendency to nevousness."
